parsec.conf - Format of the central PARSEC configuration file
The parsec.conf file is the central configuration file of the PARSEC
framework. It describes fundamental properties of the benchmark suite such as
All PARSEC configuration files are executable bash scripts, which means
that a large degree of freedom exists for writing these configurations.
The parsec.conf configuration file does not have any prerequisites.
The parsec.conf configuration file defines the following variables:
An alias FOO is created by defining a variable with the name alias_FOO. Only strings that are allowed to occur in variable names of bash
scripts can be an alias. The contents of the variable is a list of package
names the alias is to be resolved to. The alias will be treated as equivalent
to this list of packages.
An alias with the special meaning that it must contain all packages exactly
The group to which a package FOO belongs is specified by assigning the
group name to a variable with the name group_FOO. Every package must
belong to exactly one group, and for each group there must be a subdirectory
with the same name in the pkgs/ directory.
